At least two children have been killed every day with many more injured in nearly 100 days since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, says UNICEF.
It is close to 100 days since Russia attacked Ukraine, pounding living rooms across the globe with disturbing visuals and news of children, women and the elderly becoming cannon fodder.
Now UNICEF, the UN agency for child rights, says that at least two children have died due to the violent war daily and thousands are injured, some maimed for life. Besides, there is no child who has escaped the trauma the war has brought upon the country.
According to the organisation, 262 children have been killed and 415 injured in attacks since 24 February and more than four injured each day in Ukraine – mostly in attacks using explosive weapons in populated areas.
