Locally known as Tendka and Dhatki flowers , villagers in remote parts of Koraput district collect them from the forest , dry them and exchange them in leu of Salt from traders .while they have greater value , Barter system still adds beauty to life of Koraput and expects a better exchange .These flowers are used as food preservatives .
