Indigenous Communities could save the world

An Indigenous perspective on humanity’s survival on Earth
Eighty percent of the world’s biodiversity is within Indigenous territories, yet these communities often don’t have a say when it comes to protecting the lands they inhabit. Environmental activist Jupta Itoewaki explains in TED Talk why Indigenous peoples are best positioned to lead the world’s efforts to preserve nature and maintain a habitable planet — and reminds us of their outsized importance in charting a sustainable future.
She highlights that 80% of all bio diversity of the world is within the area where indigenous communities lived . As the indigenous community had been preserving the global environment for milions of years , they could do the same even at present . But for this the world should respect them with giving and recieving as the guiding principle , she added . it was a wonderful talk indeed .
